Forge Recycling are proud to continue to work with The Crown Hotel at Boston Spa. The Crown have a great waste management set up, segregating several bins of General, Mixed Recycling, Food and Glass every week.

The Crown are participating in the Boston Spa, Wetherby and Villages’ Community Green Group Sustainable Local Business Award Scheme, to reduce waste and also drive community awareness and ultimately reduce waste management costs.

The Crown gained Boston Spa Community Green Group’s 5-star Sustainable Local Business award, for their environmentally conscious way of operating; their reduction of single use plastics and initiatives to close the loop on food waste by segregating this for composting and anaerobic digestion, which Forge Recycling are able to facilitate. The Crown also supports various environmental initiatives such as refill.org.

General Manager at The Crown, Chris, Chris says:

“We started using Forge’s Waste Management services over 4 years ago and we haven’t looked back. We originally made the switch because of their recycling initiatives and we went from using mostly General Waste, to instead splitting our waste into four categories, leading to a much greener disposal of our waste. This led to cheaper waste disposal as well. We’ve had great communication from our contacts there and the actual collection service has always been prompt and efficient.”

The Pudding Lab

Other Forge Recycling customers, such as The Pudding Lab in Boston Spa, are also part of the scheme and are making an effort to segregate their waste streams to ensure higher levels of recycling and work towards Zero Waste.

Kian and Ashley, co-founders of The Pudding Lab, said they are:

“Excited to be part of such a community idea. Not only are we helping to reduce waste through the initiative, we can also better manage our own packaging and food waste. Businesses can also benefit from lower waste management costs”

The Pax Inn – Thorpe Arch

The Pax Inn – Thorpe Arch are also making great achievements through their recycling set up and are even using compostable Single Use Alternatives takeaway boxes, which they now compost through their new food waste service, introduced by Forge Recycling. This has lead them to also be awarded a 5 star Green Award.
